Saint Etienne: Boxette

For those of you in Saint Etienne’s fanclub, Lovers Unite, there has been a special offering of a limited (3000) edition box set, cutely named “Boxette“. This four-disc set includes all previous fanclub releases, ‘I Love to Paint‘, ‘Built on Sand‘, ‘Asleep At The Wheels Of Steel‘ and ‘Eric Random‘. All box sets are numbered, but the first 250 get the Christmas 2006 CD given out while on tour.

I was online with my credit card in hand as soon as it went on sale. It took me 45 minutes before I could get through, but it was entirely worth it. When the gorgeous ‘boxette’ arrived, mine was numbered 250. I got the very last Christmas 2006 CD! I was blown away.

The material is all priceless, and all new songs to me, with the exception of an early version of ‘Hill Street Connection‘, originally titled ‘Andrew McCarthy’. All in all, it was worth the 25 British Pounds ($50).

Now whether or not copies are still available is beyond me. But remember, only 3000 copies. And no, I won’t be giving out copies of the rare fifth CD. See saintetienne.com for more info!

The Journey Continues…

Don’t ever listen to “The Elvis Of Letters” by William S Burroughs before bed. All I can hear is “Word begets image, and image is virus.”

Yikes.

Red Wrapping Paper

Sami (Scammy) Brady

Alison Sweeney, who plays Sami Brady on Days Of Our Lives will be at the health fair at Union High School on January 5th. Now’s your chance to get back at her. LOL.

All Good Things…

…Should come in red wrapping paper.

Stressed

Well it’s 2:40AM and I’m over at Brett’s parent’s house; staying the night here because they have electricity. Word is that it could be 7 to 10 days before power is restored. Ice is everywhere, except the streets. I really just want to be home, asleep in my own bed until the power is back on. Brett and his family are very kind to let me sleep here, but I don’t even know if I’m going to get in even an hour of sleep. I need my own bed. We all know this routine. Plus I have the added stress of my incision throbbing, hurting; not to mention that I’m dying for a cigarette and I can’t find my smokes, much less my coat. Ugh. This is when I really need valium.

My 24 Stitches…

Enjoy.

24 Stitches

Feel lucky that this pic was taken after the yellow, blue and black bruising.

In Stitches…

Well surgery last week went well, and I’m due to have the stitches out next week. In the meantime they’re driving me nuts. There’s just enough stitching left out to poke through the dressing and my shirt, so every time I brush up against something I get a real wake-up of pain. Speaking of pain, I’m surprised how much this hurts. I really thought it would be no big deal as far as the pain goes. I’ll post the Franken-Daniel pictures this week so you can be as grossed out as I am. At least they’re not in a spot where I constantly see them.

So now that I can type again I may be thwarted from blogging for the next day or two since we have this shit/ice storm coming through. Luckily my power has stayed on, but it has flickered enough to have powered off my desktop, so I left it off for half a day, and may do so again in preparation for the next wave of ice pellets (yes, they’re calling them pellets). All I can say is thank God for my laptop. It’s my buddy.

Ugh, a flicker. I’d better go…
